Adobe Acrobat is the original and most widely-known application for working with the Portable Document Format (PDF). Developed by Adobe, it provides a comprehensive suite of tools to view, create, manipulate, and manage PDF files. The product family includes the free Acrobat Reader for basic viewing and annotating, and the paid subscription-based versions like Acrobat Pro, which unlock advanced capabilities. Acrobat Pro allows users to perform detailed edits on text and images within a PDF, convert various file formats like Word and Excel into PDFs, and create, fill out, and digitally sign forms. The software is available across multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, and mobile devices, aiming to provide a seamless document workflow for individuals and businesses.

Reviews
The Gold Standard for PDF Management
As a legal professional, Adobe Acrobat Pro is a non-negotiable part of my daily workflow. I'm constantly combining various documents—Word files, scans, exhibits—into a single, polished PDF for court filings, and Acrobat handles it flawlessly. The ability to edit text directly, redact sensitive information, and add bates numbering saves me an incredible amount of time. The e-signature and form creation tools have also modernized how we handle client intake. It's powerful and reliable. My only small wish is that the mobile app had a bit more of the desktop version's robust editing power, but for core tasks, it's still the undisputed leader.
We moved to Adobe Acrobat from a competitor and haven't looked back. Feature-rich without being bloated.
Excellent platform overall. Adobe Acrobat does what it promises and the pricing is fair for the value.
