BambooHR gets the core job done. Centralizing all our employee information and documents in one place has been a huge improvement over our old spreadsheet system. The time-off tracking is also very straightforward and our team adopted it quickly. I'm frustrated by the limitations in the reporting module. Pulling anything beyond a basic, pre-built report is a real challenge and often requires exporting data to manipulate it elsewhere. We also found the add-on modules for performance management to be quite expensive for what they offer. It’s a solid platform for the absolute essentials, but it doesn't scale well as your needs become more complex.

The interface is clean, and our employees find it easy to use for their basic needs, which is a big win. It definitely streamlined our onboarding process when we first implemented it. As we've grown, the limitations have become more apparent. Key functionalities like performance management or advanced reporting are locked behind expensive add-on packages. What started as an affordable solution is becoming increasingly costly as our needs evolve. It's a decent core system, but be prepared for the upsell if you plan to scale.
