Powerful Features, Frustrating Daily Use

QuickBooks is a real mixed bag for our agency. On one hand, the AI-powered anomaly detection is genuinely useful. Last month, it flagged an unusual vendor payment that saved me a headache during reconciliation. Having that automated second look at our books provides real peace of mind and has caught a few genuine errors. The day-to-day user experience is just frustrating. The interface feels so dated and slow. Simple tasks like categorizing expenses or running a custom report take way more clicks than they should. It feels like I'm fighting the software half the time. It’s powerful under the hood, but the clunky design makes it a chore to use.

The Industry Standard for Good Reason

We've been running our small agency on QuickBooks Online for about 18 months. For day-to-day accounting, it's fantastic. Invoicing, expense tracking, and connecting our bank feeds is smooth and saves us a ton of time. The AI-powered anomaly detection is surprisingly useful – it once flagged an unusually high utility bill that turned out to be an error from the provider. It's a solid, reliable platform. My only small gripe is the user interface can feel a bit cluttered at times, and finding a specific, less-used report can sometimes involve a bit too much clicking around. But for core accounting functions, it's unbeatable.
