Good for Payroll, Frustrating Elsewhere
I chose Patriot mainly for the integrated payroll, and for that, it works well. Running payroll for my small team of contractors is simple and the tax filings are handled correctly, which is a huge relief. That's the main thing keeping me on the platform. The accounting side feels very basic and a bit clunky. The bank feed connection is unreliable and frequently disconnects, forcing me to manually import transactions which defeats the purpose. The reporting is also very limited; I can't get the detailed job costing reports I need without exporting data and manipulating it myself. It's affordable, but the time wasted on workarounds is a hidden cost.
