A Decent Acrobat Alternative With Flaws
We bought Power PDF to escape Adobe's subscription fees, and for that, it's a win. The one-time purchase is a relief for our budget. For everyday tasks—merging reports, adding digital signatures, or making quick text edits, it works perfectly fine. The Microsoft Office-style ribbon interface made it easy for our team to get started without much training. My main frustration is the OCR (Optical Character Recognition). When I convert scanned invoices or multi-page contracts, the text output is often unreliable and full of errors, requiring significant manual cleanup. It’s powerful for basic PDF work, but I can't depend on its more advanced conversion features, which slows down my workflow considerably.
